"... and I'm writing you to thank for the creation of the Gypsy Rack that sits on top of the humvee and provides protection for the gunners. This rack was put to the test a few days ago when we flipped our humvee while on mission in Iraq. This rack held up to 5,000 lbs when the truck landed on its top. "... I just wanted to say thank you for designing/building the gunner's side shields we use on some of our humvee's here in Baghdad. The other day we got hit with another IED and there is NO DOUBT in my mind that the side shield saved my gunner's life. A chunk of shrapnel hit the side shield about 4" from the top so hard it dented the shield in about 1" deep including the square tube frame and bent the whole shield in about 3". The impact was in a direct line with my gunners chest/head. My gunner was uninjured only because your shield stopped the fragment."

To date we have had several of these shields go through attacks and the shields have held up exceptionally well, minimizing or preventing the extent of injuries suffered.
